Pranayama Workshop Berlin

  • your space 26 Prenzlauer Allee Berlin, Berlin, 10405 Germany (map)

Pranayama is the practice of breath control in order to fully balance the body and emotions while focusing the mind.
This practice greatly reduces stress, anxiety and burnout

Pranayama practice builds on asana practice (yoga poses) bringing further benefits of health, well-being and greater awareness to the practitioner. The health benefits include: deeper steady breathing, increased oxygenation of the blood, lower blood pressure and increased concentration. Spiritual benefits include increased levels of prana (life energy), stable mind and emotions, increasing wholesome (sattvic) states of mind and viriya - joyful energy to practice the path.

During the workshop we will focus on how to practice pranayama during the asana practice and as a stand alone practice. We will cover pranayamas for the body and pranayamas for spiritual development.
This is a rare opportunity to get deeper into the more subtle practice of yoga.

This practice is taught in the tradition of Sri B.N.S Iyengar of Mysore.

Early bird booking before Wednesday 12th April €20
After 12 April €25

Looking forward to welcoming you in the practice of the age old authentic tradition for body, mind and spirit!

I have been practicing Yoga since 1998 at the Sivanada School of Yoga in Johannesburg. S.A.

From 2002-2003 I taught and lead yoga classes regularly during retreats while residing at the Nan Hua Cultural centre in Bronkhorstspruit.
In 2015 I Completed a formal international teacher trainer qualification - 200HR Teacher Training (Yoga Alliance accredited) at Yoga London with Rahoul Masrani, London, UK.

In 2016 I extended my training with yoga master Sri BNS Iyengar at the Krisnamachayrr Ashtanga Yoga Shala in Mysore, India. This consisted of intensive teacher training in Ashtanga Yoga and teacher training in Pranayama (Yogic Breathing techniques).

My typical style of yoga practice is traditional hatha with an emphasis on meditation and relaxation as well as a dynamic energetic Ashtanga based class. I also organise specialised yoga and surf retreats and specifically tailored classes for individuals who wish to deepen and refine their yoga practice.
